What is a Factory Host
How the Factory Host fits in semiconductor manufacturing, and how it uses SECS/GEM to control and monitor equipment.
A Factory Host is the factory-side system that talks to semiconductor manufacturing equipment using SECS/GEM. It starts and stops jobs, collects events and alarms, manages recipes, and keeps the tool synchronized with MES and other plant systems.
On the equipment side, Tool Control Software implements the GEM interface so the host can control and monitor the tool. Without a reliable host connection, tools cannot participate in automated fab operations.
You can use SecsHost to emulate a Factory Host while you develop, test, and debug SECS/GEM equipment software.
